A Little Respite from the Whirlwind of Life

Does your daily schedule have you feeling frazzled and bewildered? Are you ready for a deep breath of fresh air? Just for a moment, stop what you are doing. Go make a cup of tea. Then come back and be treated to a little mental vacation.

Tea time is such a civilized concept. For some it evokes visions of quiet sitting rooms filled with sunlight and flowers, of pretty china cups and little butter cookies. For others it would take them to a lovely outdoor setting, a shady spot on a sunny day with a gentle breeze blowing through the trees. Tea time is a mindset that restores peace and order to our chaotic inner world. It provides opportunity to push our physical, mental and emotional “Reset” buttons.

Longfellow, in his poem, “The Children’s Hour” spoke of “…a pause in the day’s occupations…” We are told in the Bible to “Be still and know that I am God.” I hope you will take a few moments to read this month's Cup of Tea. Just click on the green "Cup of Tea" above. See for yourself what a change midday Tea Time brings into your life.

  Dear Friends,

It is hard to believe that Cup of Tea for You & Me began in the early 1990's and has been posted on this web site since 2000. What a privilege to write and blessing to hear from so many of you as you've responded with kind words of encouragement.

For many of those years, there was a fresh pot of tea served monthly. Then suddenly for almost a year, no tea was poured. That time of absence brought significant changes in my life. The Lord called me to walk a path I never imagined, nor ever would have chosen to travel. But there were lessons I needed to learn about Him and about myself that were best taught on that route.

I pray that these new lessons will provide blessings to each reader. Life will always be challenging. In fact, as each day brings the day of Christ's return closer, we will all face increasing challenges. But God is faithful! He is good all the time! His path is always safe to walk and is worth walking, even when it is dark and narrow!

I cherish our times together, sharing laughter, tears, prayers and hope. I pray Tea Time will always be a blessing to each of you.

In the matchless love of Jesus,

Sue
